Ellie Clare

Registered Veterinary Nurse, PHC

Hi I’m Ellie and I joined the team here at Eureka Veterinary Centre in July 2009. I’ve been working as a Veterinary Nurse since February 2004 and qualified April 2009.

One of the highlights of my training experience was a safari to South Africa where I encountered a huge variety of different species of animal, some quite scary like the black rhino that pretended to charge at our truck and some very cute, like the bushbaby in the picture.

Over the years I’ve had many pets of my own: goldfish, guinea pigs, a budgie, a cat and two dogs, thankfully not all at the same time! One of the most demanding is my guinea pig Pixie (aka Gertrude) who was found in the wilds of the woods by Sophie’s dog Buster! She definitely lets me know when it’s time for her favourite, celery, as she squeals at the top of her lungs every time I open the fridge.

Two of the great loves of my life outside work are rugby and music. I love to watch my boyfriend and brothers play rugby and I enjoy singing. I have even recorded a professional CD! Although I don’t often mix these two pastimes I have been known to belt out the odd rugby song at Twickenham!

If you have any queries, whether they’re big or small please don’t hesitate to contact me at the surgery. I’m always happy to help and enjoy sharing my knowledge on all aspects of preventative pet health care.
